Mechanical Appliances

The Testing Laboratory is accredited by the Czech Accreditation Institute as the Accredited Testing Laboratory No. 1045.1. It is also the Centre of Technical Assistence, carries out consulting activites and tests in conformity with Czech and foreign technical standards and regulations.

The Engineering Test Institute, being EC Notified Body No. 1015, the Authorized Body No. 202 and the Accredited Testing Laboratory of the Russian Gosstandart, is ready to provide and grant a wide spectrum of services. The Engineering Test institute offers its services in the field covered by the Act No. 22/1997 Coll., as amended, on technical requirements to products, concerning assessment of conformity, and by related Government Regulation (EC Directive): 9/2002 Coll., (2000/14/EC), 19/2003 Coll., (88/378/EEC), 20/2003 Coll., (87/404/EEC), 21/2003 Coll., (89/686/EEC), 22/2003 Coll., (90/396/EEC), 24/2003 Coll., (98/37/EC), 336/2004 Coll., (93/42/EEC), 26/2003 Coll., (97/23/EC), 42/2003 Coll., (99/36/EC), 163/2002 Coll., 173/1997 Coll. (all Government Decrees are understood, as amended).

The Testing Laboratory provides verification and certification of conformity, carries out testing and renders services in the fields which the Engineering Test Institute has been authorized and accredited for:

machines and machinery
equipment for mechanical, chemical and electrochemical surface treatment and organic coatings
fittings for gaseous fuels
components of burners and gaseous fuel appliances
hoses and fittings for connection of gas appliances
fittings for central heating systems
fittings for potable water
hydraulic and water distribution hoses
components for natural gas-powered vehicles
pressure cylinders and vessels
portable, movable and attached fire extinguishers
head protective aids - sport helmets, protective helmets for industrial plants and for firemen
medical devices - aids for immobile patients
ladders
toys and children playgrounds

The Testing Laboratory also carries out:

climatic testing (heat, cold, humidity, dry heat)
artificial ageing of plastics pursuant to ISO 4892
pressure tests up to the max. pressure of 2000 bar
corrosion tests in salt mist pursuant to CSN ISO 9227
measurements of noise characteristics and vibrations
measurements of dustiness
playgrounds surface pursuant to CSN EN 11777
assessment of vessels and cylinders in conformity with the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) and Regulations concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail (RID)
assessment of safe operation of machines, technical equipment, instruments and tools pursuant to GD 378/2001 Coll.

The Engineering Test Institute provides certificates not only for the Czech market, but also for the following foreign markets: Bulgaria, European Union, GS Germany, Rumania, Russian Federation, Ukraine.
