EPA

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), whose main mission is to protect human health and the environment in the US, operates across a wide range of industries, including verification and certification of compliance with emission limits produced by biomass heating appliances.

The compliance with EPA requirements is a prerequisite for placing the products on the US market.

SZU has been recently granted the status of a recognized testing laboratory (EPA-Test Lab) and certification body (EPA-Third Party Certifier) in relation to the emission limits of selected product categories, including:

The main role of SZU within this recognition lies, in principle, in conducting tests according to the related American standards and methodologies, and within subsequent evaluation (i.e. certification) of these tests, incl. performing the quality control audits at the manufacturer´s premises.

SZU has been recognized as one of the few non-American entities operating within the EPA.
