The cooperation between SZU and its foreign partners in Taiwan and Shanghai is an inspiring story of development, professionalism, and international connectivity. From the first steps taken by SUNREACH and OUCE to the establishment of the official representative offices of SZU Taiwan and SZU Shanghai, strong bridges have been built between Europe and Asia.
SUNREACH was founded in 2002 in Taiwan by Mr. Alan Tsai. It is a professional company providing testing and consulting services for Taiwanese products applying for EU CE certification.
Before founding SUNREACH, Mr. Tsai worked at KEMA Taiwan (later acquired by DEKRA) as the CE Certification Department Manager and also served as an ISO 9001 auditor. By then, he had already accumulated considerable experience in the EU CE certification system and ISO quality management system certification. Thanks to this background, SUNREACH quickly gained recognition among many clients in Taiwan.
In 2003, KEMA decided to close KEMA Taiwan. The ISO certification clients were transferred to KEMA Hong Kong for follow-up services, while the CE certification clients were handed over to SUNREACH. As a result, SUNREACH became one of the preferred partners for CE certification services in the Taiwanese market.
In 2005, Mr. Alan Tsai and Mr. David Zhou jointly established OUCE in Shanghai.
After OUCE was founded, Mr. Tsai contributed all his previous experience and resources related to CE certification to the company, while Mr. Zhou served as CEO, responsible for cooperation with consulting firms and direct clients across China. Within just two years, OUCE grew rapidly from a two-person startup in 2005 to a team of over 20 people by 2007.
In 2007, the International Department Manager of SZU visited OUCE in Shanghai for the first time, and both sides began exploring potential cooperation opportunities. Through several collaborative projects, Mr. Tsai and Mr. Zhou realized the advantages of the SZU brand and decided to make greater investments and strategic plans to cooperate with SZU.
This led to the establishment of SZU Shanghai in Shanghai and SZU Taiwan in Taiwan. Since then, both SZU Shanghai and SZU Taiwan have maintained stable operations, successfully bringing the SZU brand into the Chinese and Taiwanese markets.
Over the past decade, SZU headquarters has sent staff annually to China and Taiwan to assist with certification activities, while SZU Shanghai and SZU Taiwan have also sent staff to headquarters for training and exchange.
In 2023, SZU’s CEO, Mr. Hruška, visited Taiwan as part of a Czech business delegation and joined the “Taiwan-Czech Business Matchmaking Event.” During the visit, Mr. Tsai met with him, and they exchanged views on the future development of cooperation.
Looking ahead, SZU Shanghai and SZU Taiwan will continue to expand certification services, enabling more clients in Mainland China and Taiwan to recognize and choose SZU as their trusted partner.
