Czech know‑how, global reach

• SZÚ is a Notified Body of the European Community (NB 1015), for conformity assessment under 12 applicable directives and 3 regulations (CPR, GAR, and PPE) within the European Union.
• SZÚ provides expert services to manufacturers operating within the EU single market.
• SZÚ also supports manufacturers intending to place their products on the market or into operation in countries outside the European Union, such as South Korea, the USA, China, or Ukraine.
• SZÚ is an accredited DVGW (Deutsche Vereinigung des Gas- und Wasserfaches) laboratory for gas and water fittings and gas appliances.
• SZÚ is a certification body under the MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) for heat pumps and selected heat equipment.
• SZÚ is an accredited UIAA (International Mountaineering and Climbing Federation) testing laboratory for all mountaineering equipment.
• SZÚ operates as a testing laboratory registered within the EHPA (European Heat Pump Association) for heat pumps.
• SZÚ is one of the few certification bodies to which manufacturers may apply for KEYMARK certification, i.e. a voluntary and independent European certification mark for all types of heat pumps.
• Through DIN CERTCO, SZÚ is a recognized member of the European RADMAC group, in full compliance with all requirements for radiators, convectors, and fan-assisted floor convectors in accordance with test standards EN 442 and EN 16430.
• SZÚ is a recognized laboratory for testing under the Korean certification marks KCs and S‑mark.
• SZÚ is recognized as one of the few non‑US entities operating within the framework of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), whose main mission is the protection of human health and the environment in the United States. The primary role of SZÚ is to conduct testing focused on emission limits in accordance with relevant U.S. standards and methodologies, followed by the evaluation (i.e. certification) of these tests, including quality control audits at manufacturers of biomass heating equipment (such as adjustable burn rate wood heaters, pellet stoves, new hydronic heaters, or forced air furnaces etc.).
